News > Know What You're BuyingIn the interest of informing our customers, we feel its important to compare our product with that of our closest competitor, makers of a book called the “perpetual table reservation book”. We recently purchased a volume of our perpetual rival and was surprised by some of its features. While made with machine-like craftsmanship, the perpetual table book misses several opportunities for clarity and customer service. The perpetual table reservation book is not dated. While containing well over 500 sheets, none of those pages have the month and day printed on them. Each page is printed as exact duplicates, making no indication of weekends or holidays. Adding to this, the perpetual table book does not have monthly tabs. There aren’t any month-at-a-glance calendars or heavy dividers which would keep the book open and easily accessible to make reservations in future months. The quality of the pages themselves is questionable as well. The paper is tissue thin, and tears easily. A book full of kleenex wouldn’t last long in a restaurant with possible coffee spills, clumsy busboys, and hyper hostesses. While economically priced and casebound, the perpetual table reservation book does not offer the kind of considerations and expertise that comes with understanding the needs of the hospitality industry for over fifty years.
