News > Two Birds, One BookWe’re pretty pleased with what www.hodgesandirvine.com can accomplish. It’s far and away our number one sales tool, being the first link to appear under a general search of “reservation books”. It showcases the various books we carry and create, as well as allows customers to order online, or if they have questions: the option to Contact Us. This past Tuesday, a customer did just that, and showed up on our doorstep.
On an errand for her restaurantuer fiancé, our visitor travelled from her property in the Greektown area of Detroit to our office 60 miles away, just to pick up a pro-rated reservation book for the remainder of 2010. She had been to OfficeMax and Staples, looking for a notebook or sheduler that would serve her needs, but nothing was satisfactory. So a trip through Google.com sent her north to St. Clair, where our design and production staff crafted her an 11 x 8 Erie series Table Reservation book in under 15 minutes. After presenting her with the purchase and explaining we don’t normally get houseguests, she agreed that buying online might have been a better solution. Still, it added some excitement to an office afternoon, provided our customer with a reason to see the country side of Michigan, and a subject for this week’s blog. Also: Hodges & Irvine will be on television this fall. No, we won’t be featured on Entertainment Tonight, interviewed by Barbara Walters, or dance with any stars. We will, however, have one of our spiral bound table reservation books being used in a hit network television show as a prop. To celebrate our brush with fame, we’ve decided to offer a prize.
